ECOKRAFT - Rose hips (powder) to tea pellets
Rose hips have been known for hundreds of years for their many beneficial properties. They are the gathering fruit of the wild rose and are also known as the "lemon of the north" because of their very high content of vitamin C of over 1,250 milligrams per 100 grams.
Rose hip also contains vitamins D, P, K, B1, B2, B3 and provitamin A, as well as the important minerals calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, copper, zinc, sodium, iron, selenium and manganese. This concentrated load of vitamins and minerals makes the rose hip the regional secret weapon among the popular superfoods.
Not only is rose hip a true vitamin bomb, it also has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties, aids digestion, binds toxins, strengthens skin and vision, protects blood vessels and can alleviate bladder problems. When the weather turns cold, rose hips are also an important food source for native birds.
They are picked from late August until well into November, then washed and dried to preserve them for making tea.
When the dried rose hip fruits are chopped, very fine, sometimes even pulverized residual material is produced, which is not suitable for filling into tea bags due to its volume.
By pelletizing this rose hip powder into tea pellets and then chopped it in a pellet cutter machine, the entire surplus residual material of the rose hip can be reused.
